What exactly is microneedling?
Microneedling improves damaged or aging skin. How?
The SkinPen® is a small device that works by creating hundreds of microscopic channels via microneedles into the skin. It stimulates the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier.
Non-surgical procedure with little to no recovery time
Noticeable results in less than a day
Safe for all skin types and tones
Effective on all body parts, including face, neck and décolletage
Assists in reducing the signs of aging, improving the appearance of stretch marks and/or acne scars, as well as to rejuvenate dull, tired skin.
The lightweight and ergonomic design of the SkinPen® in conjunction with the vertical delivery of the needles allows Dr Jenni to use the device to treat hard-to-reach places that other dermal rollers cannot. It can specifically target delicate areas around the nose and mouth to assist in the collagen remodelling process.
What to expect:
Dr Jenni will apply a numbing cream that you keep on for 30 minutes and then your treatment will take about 30 minutes
It is not painful, you may feel tingling of the skin in places
Most clients will have some slight swelling and redness/pinkness (like a mild sunburn) afterwards, which usually settles completely in 24 hours
You won’t be able to wear makeup for 24 hours. It is recommended to use SPF 30 for a week as your skin will be sensitive to the sun
Dr Jenni will give you aftercare advice and information to take away with you
What does a medical skin peel involve?
Medical skin peels are good for your skin when performed by a trained professional. They use naturally occurring acids which help remove the dead, dull skin cells and stimulate skin rejuvenation.
At your appointment:
Dr Jenni thoroughly cleanses your skin and then applies the peel solution. This may be left on the skin for a couple of minutes, or longer for a deeper peel. During this time, you may experience a tingling or heat sensation
The peel solution is then neutralised and removed from your skin
Sun protection will then be applied as your skin will be particularly sensitive to the sun following a peel; Dr Jenni will recommend that you continue to do this for a week with the treatment pack she provides you
Any skin redness lasts about an hour after treatment. Dr Jenni will advise you not to put makeup on your skin for 12 hours, you can still wear lip and eye makeup
