As winter approaches, you might notice that your skin looks a little duller. Makeup settles differently, uneven texture becomes more obvious, and the brightness you enjoyed during summer feels harder to find.
Perhaps you’re noticing pigmentation after sunnier months, or congestion that hasn’t improved despite changing your skincare.
It can be difficult to know what to try next, especially when every product seems to promise something different.
At The Dr Jenni Clinic, our cellular renewal facials are medical facials, selected around your skin concerns following an individual assessment. They form part of a considered approach to skin health, with advice on preparation, aftercare and the skincare you use at home.
When your usual skincare feels insufficient
There isn’t one single reason women ask us about cellular renewal facials. For some, it’s a feeling that their skin has lost its brightness. For others, it’s uneven tone, congestion or texture that makes their usual skincare and makeup feel less effective. You may not have one specific concern. You might simply feel that your skin has changed and want help understanding your options.
That’s a useful starting point. You don’t need to arrive with a treatment already chosen.
What does a medical facial involve?
A cellular renewal facial uses a carefully selected exfoliating formulation as part of a treatment tailored to your skin.
The consultation matters just as much as the facial itself. We consider your concerns, your current routine and how your skin has responded to products or treatments in the past. There are different formulations and treatment strengths. What suits one person may be inappropriate for another, even when their concerns sound similar.
We’ll explain the proposed treatment, what you might expect afterwards and the care your skin will need before you decide to proceed.
Minimal downtime, with aftercare included
Our cellular renewal facials usually involve minimal downtime, with around an hour of pinkness afterwards. Individual responses can vary, and we’ll explain what to expect during your consultation.
At the end of your treatment, you’ll also receive a skincare kit worth £30, included in your facial, to use over the following several days.
We’ll guide you through how to use it, so you leave knowing how to care for your skin at home.
Why plan your skin care during winter?
Winter can offer a practical opportunity to review your skin care, particularly if you have fewer holidays or outdoor plans in the diary.
It’s also a time when you may become more aware of changes in your skin. You might notice that it feels less comfortable, looks uneven or no longer responds to your usual routine in the same way.
The season alone doesn’t determine whether a facial is suitable. Your skin’s condition, medication, existing products and plans for the weeks ahead all matter.
If you’re travelling somewhere sunny, let us know. Sun protection remains an important part of your skin care throughout the year, including around treatments.
Uncomfortable skin deserves attention first
If your skin is tight, sore, red or stings when you apply products, you may be hoping a facial will put everything right.
Those symptoms are worth discussing before booking an exfoliating treatment. Sometimes the first step is to review your routine and help your skin become more comfortable.
A bespoke consultation helps us decide where to begin. That may involve a treatment, changes to your home skincare or further assessment of a persistent concern.
A plan that fits your skin and your diary
If you have a Christmas party, family celebration or another important event coming up, mention it when booking so we can help you choose suitable timing.
We’ll also talk about realistic expectations and how your clinic treatments fit alongside the products you use at home. Some concerns need ongoing care, and a single facial may be one part of a longer-term plan.
The aim is to give you clear advice that feels manageable, with recommendations chosen for you.
